Library Director Position

The Wilmot Public Library is an essential and cherished part of the Wilmot community. The Wilmot Public Library Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Wilmot Public Library and reports to the Board of Trustees of the Wilmot Public Library. The Director is expected to keep our library a vibrant and creative source of information, education, culture and recreation. This is a 32 hour a week, part-time position. Salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop and maintain library collections
  • Responsible for keeping all library-related technology current
  • Oversee and organize volunteers
  • Work with the Board to establish policies and procedures
  • Plan and improve library services, including programming
  • Attend library meetings and workshops
  • Keep current with library trends
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Minimum New Hampshire state requirements for public librarians
  • Technology fluency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding people skills, including with children
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public outreach and programming experience
  • Library experience
  • Love of books and people!
  • Creativity and enthusiasm
  • Enjoys community involvement
  • Experience with children
  • Website design, Microsoft office, database management, downloadable audios and ebooks, Apple and Android device familiarity all a plus!
